Heydar Aliyev Cultural Center, Baku, Azerbaijan

This cultural centre comprises 57,500 square-metres of a conference hall auditorium, a gallery hall and a museum. The building has 1000 seat auditorium, temporary exhibition spaces, a conference centre, workshops and a museum, set over eight floor levels. To meet the design intent, the project is clad both externally and internally with glass fiber reinforced composite panels. The structure and facade design focused on achieving the design while meeting the very high wind loading and environmental design criteria of the region. Designed with Zaha Hadid Architects, Newtecnic completed the detailed design for structural and facade engineering for the complete scope of the project, on behalf of the building contractor for the facades.
