NEWTECNIC SUSTAINABILITY POLICY
Statement of Intent
The sustainability policy of Newtecnic is to combine corporate social responsibility with environmental management, in the recognition that sustainable value creation is fundamental to our society.
Through design specification, Newtecnic is committed to preventing environmental and social harm, replenishing natural systems and renewable resources. The firm also aims to be a positive influence in the communities and environments for which we provide designs.
Policy Aims
To ensure effective implementation of this policy, Newtecnic works with the aim of continuous improvement to achieve the following:
Identify and fulfil our compliance obligations, including under all legislation, standards and codes of practice.
Continue to improve our environmental design and social performance through effective communication, provision of staff training and adoption of best available techniques.
Continuously improve our corporate responsibility standards, tools and management system in order to achieve our environmental design ambitions.
Adhere to design principles of the prevention of pollution of land, air and water to avoid causing harm, and to restore where necessary, the environments for which we provide designs.
To contribute positively to a lasting legacy in the communities in which we provide designs.
Our policies for anti-slavery and human trafficking aim to assist society in bringing an end to labour abuse.
Work with builders, fabricators, manufacturers and installers to raise environmental performance standards and encourage ethical practices.
To specify resources and materials in accordance with our principles of sustainability.
To achieve Net Zero carbon emissions across projects where we are designers, through specification, by 2045. This aim applies to the building function at the design stage.
Design out waste and design in circularity for our materials and produce no avoidable waste by 2035.
Help to maintain a healthy environment for future generations by protecting natural resources and enhancing biodiversity on sites, through specification.
Support environmental performance by offering sustainable choices, opportunities for continuous improvement, and reducing the environmental impact that our designs have during the construction phase of a project.
Senior management will review this policy periodically and establish objectives and targets that are consistent with Newtecnic’s strategy. This evolving policy will be communicated to all our employees, on our website, and made available to third parties.
