Modern Construction Envelopes is an updated combination of the Modern Construction Facades and Modern Construction Roofs books. Generic systems for facades and roofs are grouped by the primary material used, and set out the main systems used around the world.
Information is set out as both 2-D sections as well as 3-D assemblies shown both assembled and exploded as components. The emphasis on communication in 3-D is the major development from the two previous volumes published in 2004 and 2005 respectively.
Different visual expressions arising from the use of the different systems are shown as rendered views of the 3-D models used to generate the drawings rather than show specific built examples.
