Taipei Music Centre

Comments:
This project for an indoor pop music performance centre uses a single tile-based facade system that provides both glazed and opaque areas across the facade without changing the system.

This approach was in response to the need to provide specific zones of daylight in facades which would suit the needs of environmental performance but which might not provide an appropriate expression for the building envelope. A range of geometries was used, from triangles to Penrose tiles, all using the same tile system for the complete external envelope.

Natural ventilation through parts of the facade was explored using CFD software.
