Comments:
This stadium design uses GRC cladding to a ribbed reinforced concrete wall to create a set of lapped 'ribbons' around the perimeter of the building.

The surface of the GRC panels was perforated to provide point sources of daylight within the building during the day, also providing a source for illuminating the facade in hours of darkness.

Gaps between the ribbons are glazed, but are oriented towards the north, protected from the effects of solar gain by the geometry of the openings.

In hours of darkness, electrical lighting from within the circulation spaces of the stadium washes across the surface of the ribbons at the top and bottom of the facade, revealing the 3-D modelling of the external form.
