This design for a theatre of national importance is based around the idea of a smoothly formed wrap around a set of auditorium paces within. The spaces created between the auditoria and the external envelope form foyers and zones for circulation.
The use of a monolithic concrete aesthetic on external walls creates a strong visual impression of a durable, lasting form that forms continuity between building, external amphitheatre and public spaces around the building.
The facade system is one which is used for a range of conditions; from highly modelled roofscape to wall to external screens and paving in the amphitheatre.
