Comments:
Newtecnic developed façade systems for the Moscow City Tower for architects RMJM. Newtecnic also developed proposals for a gridshell roof structure to the top of the tower and a glazed atrium at its base.
The main work was in designing façade systems which could accommodate the complex geometry of the building’s form while using standard components and remaining within the cost parameters of standard systems.
A bolt fixed glazing system was generated which allows four adjacent glass panels to meet at different angles and in different planes. The supporting structure for the bolt fixed glazing was designed to avoid a visually heavy structure, allowing greater visual transparency in the glazed atrium spaces.
