Comments:
This bank headquarters project in Riyadh uses a series of solar shading panels set between loadbearing columns around the perimeter of the building. The shading is set on the edge of maintenance access decks that formed a continuous edge to the facades.

The building is enclosed with glazed panels set on the inner edge of the access walkway. The glazed panels span from floor to ceiling, with the framing set externally rather than internally in order to provide a flat glazed expression to the offices internally.

The solar shading screens comprise vertical aluminium sections in two rows, one set behind the other. Each set of louvres is able to move horizontally in different directions at the top and bottom, creating a varied series of shading and daylighting effects within the building.
